USA Baseball is implementing a new bat standard that will take effect January 1, 2018
•After Jan 1, all players will need to use a new USA Baseball certified bat with the stamp shown below on the barrel:
•Why: This new standard will promote a more wood-like bat performance, leading to a safer and more universal game across leagues
•All leagues will now allow 2 5/8” bats for play, therefore the majority of the new bats will be 2 5/8 barrels and all performance bats will only come in 2 5/8” (no more 2 ¼” performance bats)
•The performance of the new bats will continue to be relative to the new standard, meaning that the top of the line bats will still offer maximum performance under the new standard
